In the first example, suppose that the majority of drivers on both roads drive  on average 10000 k.

Then, driving at 40k would take 250 hours.
And, then driving at 50 would take 200 hours, for a savings of 50 hours.

Driving at 80k would take 125 hours.
But at 120k, the drive take about 80 hours, for a savings of 45 hours.

Similar calculation for the MPG v GPM.</description>
