I wanted to share a nice compliment from my father-in-law who commented how much he appreciated that I pressed myself back into my seat and didn't obstruct his view when he was preparing to turn unlike his wife who leans forward attempting to "help" him see if the roadway is clear thereby blocking the mirrors and his visibility. I think the conduct of the passenger really impacts the driver -- how about a code of passenger conduct?! Of course, I'm also guilty of the "sharp intake of breath" that drives my husband crazy when he's driving but since he avoided a herd of deer on the Evergreen Parkway (CO) last Friday night by sheer skill (one poor animal was hit by a vehicle coming from the other direction and the smack of flesh against truck and the calling of the other deer was heart-breaking) I have made a vow to be a quieter passenger unless there's anything absolutely critical to report! Really enjoying the book, Tom, and now feel better about not wearing a helmet when riding my bike!
