		<description>I love my 1937 "blackout bike"  All the chrome parts were at one point painted black to eliminate reflections.  Much of the black paint has be rubbed away, but there's still some on the BB bracket, cranks and rod brake levers.</description>

		<description>Definitely puts bike ninjas down several notches in risk, doesn't it? Seriously though what's described here is one of the reasons I tell people to use lights when they ride, to see and be seen.</description>

		<description>Given that petrol rationing got introduced at some point during the war, so the miles driven by private vehicles must have dropped significantly, the risk to pedestrians per mile driven may have got much worse than just doubling.</description>
